Steps To Going Mobile

What Is Your Business Doing To Go Mobile In 2012?

By: Jim Brocken

If your business is not taking steps right now to be Mobile Internet friendly in 2012, you will lose business to competitors who are. It’s simple like that. However, most small business owners don’t even know where to begin and are being confused and miss-lead by the mobile industry itself.

These Are Our Steps To A Successful Mobile Internet Web Presence.

1. Make certain that your information is correct not only with Google, but, all over the internet (not even including your own website). This is especially true if you want to be found on an Android Phone / Network! In 2010, Google CEO Eric Schmidt said “Google will now consider mobile first in all future endeavors.” This is evidenced by Android advances, and strong emphasis local mobile solutions like Places and Adwords Express. So, it’s fundamentally important to make sure your information is 100% on the major search engines. And if it’s not, you need to take action now!

2. Make sure you are constantly updating your information all over the internet to boost your local mobile search rankings. To Quote Google – Establish a strong, accurate presence on the web. Google improves search results by aggregating information about your business from all over the web. Make sure information about your business on third-party sites is accurate, and try to contact the respective site directly to correct any inaccurate information.” Nothing more needs to be said about this.

3. Make sure you have an iron clad Review System in place that encourages your customers to write reviews. To quote Google again – Encourage customers to review your business by clicking Write a review on the Place Page.” Encourage customers to check back often for events and specials. We all know ‘’word of mouth” referrals are the best. And the internet is now the largest word of mouth system on the planet.

4. Implement a Short Message System (SMS). By implementing an SMS system, you can communicate with your customers almost instantaneously using Text Messages to their phones. This is highly effective for providing offers, event promotion and build a customer loyalty program. Just a few facts; unlike a computer, most people have their phones with them 24/7. That is why over 90% of all text messages get open and read within minutes of their arrival.

5. Now comes the tricky part. Do you really need a Mobile Website or Mobile Application? Honestly, what good is a Mobile Website if no one can find it? And what good is an Application unless your are willing to spend a lot of time and money to promote it for downloading? In our opinion, the best solution is to equip your existing website with switching so when a smart phone or tablet hits your site, it automatically converts it to the appropriate platform. Fusion 7 Design can help you accomplish this using your existing site or creating an entire new web presence that accomplishes everything necessary for both organic internet as well as mobile.

Once these basic steps have been completed, you can then begin to implement advertising and marketing programs that both pull and push traffic to your business. The most important part of the process is being found with accurate and fresh information on as many places possible.

SMS services enable you to communicate with your customers, colleagues, employees, suppliers, affiliates and others by sending and receiving bulk text messages via a Software Messaging Platform.

SMS messaging campaigns are the most familiar form of mobile marketing. With SMS messaging campaigns a mobile phone user is directed to send a distinct text-message Keyword and a pre-defined 5-digit or 6-digit destination number known as a 'Short Code'.
